The so-called "succulent" plants can be a real source of amazement. Offering the most varied forms and showing extreme resistance - including cold for some! -, they confuse the amateur gardener who can then fall in love with them to the point of becoming a collector. The perfect opportunity to observe in detail their cutting, their flowering and even the change in color of their leaves for some. The succulents owe their name to the juice they contain, a mucilage very rich in water which serves as a reserve. Being so full of liquid allows them to withstand extreme conditions, as they exist in their regions of origin (mainly southern Africa). This water is stored in all or part of the plant (stems and / or leaves). A survival reflex for these desert plants which ask for nothing better than to flourish in our interiors or even in our gardens for the most rustic!

Echeveria pearl of Nuremberg

J-F. Mahé This succulent comes from Mexico. It also comes in the form of rosettes which develop until they can form a veritable carpet of plants. Its petals are of a beautiful purple color. When it blooms and is adorned with orange-red flowers, the spectacle is all the more beautiful!
